Irvine 11 trial begins after a week of jury selection

Opening arguments in the “Irvine 11” free speech trial formally begin Wednesday in California. The Muslim students who protested an Israeli official’s visit continue to fight criminal charges that could lead to two-year jail sentences. 

Oral arguments begin in Holy Land Five's case for appeal

The Fifth Circuit Court will hear the oral arguments for an appeal in the case of the Holy Land Five, the founders of the largest Muslim charity in the US who have been imprisoned under Patriot Act laws. 

Palestinian Americans "unequivocally reject" PA's UN statehood bid

Palestinian Americans have called on Arabs, Palestinians and their allies everywhere to reject a bid by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to ask the United Nations next month to admit the “State of Palestine” as a full member. In a 27 August statement from its coordinating committee, the US Palestinian Communities Network (USPCN) wrote:
