Audio: Crossing the Line interviews author Alex Lubin

This week on Crossing the Line host Chris Brown speaks with Alex Lubin, an assistant professor of American Studies and the Director of Peace Studies at the University of New Mexico. He is the author of the forthcoming book, Promise Land: The “Orient” in African American Global Imaginary. Lubin’s research centers on the relationship between African Americans and the Arab World, in particular the Palestinians.

Brown next speaks with Dr. Charles Mock who recently took part in a delegation of African American clergy to the occupied West Bank. In the third portion of his program Brown speaks with Dr. Marcy Newman, a visiting professor of American studies at American University in Beirut about the current situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon in the context of the recent fighting in the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp. Lastly in the program Mumia abu-Jamal shares his weekly commentary and The War’s Toll compiled and read by Scott Burgwin of The Stand Independent News Service.
